NetImpact Overview spacer
spacer
NetImpact is a network of more than 10,000 new-generation leaders committed to using the power of business to improve the world. Georgia Tech has a thriving MBA Chapter and we are excited about the impending formation of a strong Undergraduate Chapter as well. NetImpact’s goal is to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of leaders who use the power of business to make a positive social, environmental, and economic impact.

MBA Chapter

Georgia Tech MBA’s NetImpact Chapter educates and raises awareness in our students about the importance of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Their goal is to change the culture of the College of Management so that our students consider these issues as necessary– not complementary– for the success of any business venture. In order to accomplish this goal the current President and officers coordinate the Board Fellows Program, Pro Bono Consulting, and participation in local and national competitions and conferences.

Pro Bono Consulting

Georgia Tech's Pro Bono Consulting Program is aimed at helping not-for-profit organizations based in Atlanta to resolve key strategic challenges. We are also committed to providing exceptional educational and personal growth opportunities for motivated student participants. Teams are comprised of 5 students, including MBAs, PhDs, and other graduate students with diverse backgrounds.

Projects are conducted over 15 weeks during the Fall or Spring semester. Prior to undertaking a project we work together with our clients to set expectations and define deliverables. All projects are evaluated against our dual goal mission and approved by the client representatives, consulting team and program leaders, as well as advising faculty from Georgia Tech’s Business School. Projects must have a defined problem, a defined scope, and a defined need. Upon completion, clients will receive presentation of findings with the expectation that results will be considered for implementation by key organizational decision makers.

If your not-for-profit organization is interested in applying to have a team of Georgia Tech students take on a project please contact Ryan Langdale.

Board Fellows Program

Service to the community is important to the College of Management’s MBA students and it is evident through the support that students give to the various philanthropy events conducted during the academic year.  Therefore, in an effort to allow students to engage in meaningful support of the community and utilize the skills they have honed during their study here in the College of Management, the Net Impact Club proudly supports the Board Fellows Program.
As a part of the program current Georgia Tech MBA students serve as non-voting members on Atlanta-area non-profit boards. In this role, the students will develop awareness of board roles and functions by providing business skills, new insights, and innovative perspectives to the boards on which they serve.
If your non-profit board is interested in having an MBA student serve please contact the Director of the ILE, Terry Blum, for more information.
